Hi, I just got my 1520 today but noticed that there is a persistent dark spot on the screen... It is a sealed at&t RM-940 BUT damn I got it from ebay.

Besides resorting to the seller for help, is it possible for me to resort to ebay, Nokia (the IMEI shows "In warranty in the US"), or at&t for replacement? Or is this one-dark-spot issue not eligible for replacement at all? :unhappy:

Any suggestion is appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Nokia should be able to take it in if you file a warranty claim on it. AT&T likely won't help since it wasn't bought through them or on upgrade.

Thanks for your reply!

I have two questions now,
1. On the Warranty info it says the warranty does not cover "Pixel defects in your Product’s display that are within the scope of industry standards". So what are "industry standards"? Does a 1mm^2 dark area allowed in industry standard?
2. How can I file a warranty claim to Nokia? I never had issue with Nokia before so I don't know how to do this.

Thank you!

I believe industry standards means up to 4 pixels, but I could be wrong. It may also depend on the size of the device. Either way, it really sucks to see yet another dark spot/light spot issue.

At a glance it was a 1mm * 1mm grey area, particularly noticeable under white background. I don't know how many pixels the area contained.

Well I don't imagine it's any different than the other reported dark/light spot issues with the 1520, and I believe most of those people successfully sent theirs in for repair. If you're under warranty, you should be covered.
