Hi everyone,

I have this older Latitude E5440 (it's not great) running Windows 10 (90% sure). I actually bought it from someone awhile ago (it had Microsoft Office) and used it for a bit and then let it sit for several months. I went to turn it on (it was very dead) and all of a sudden it was asking me to sign in as "New User". I tried all the passwords I would ever use and it also had a password recovery option by answering three questions but my answers do not work there either. Also, in the sign on screen, it says "Activate Windows" in the bottom right and then "Go to Settings to activate Windows" which seems strange, as I was using it before. What could have happened? Is there anyway to recover my old sign in so I can use Office? Or do I need to completely factory reset it?

Thanks for any help!
