Hi,

Bit of a trivial thing but I am sure there is a good reason for it though I can not think of it.

When I open up an article to read, approx 75% of the screen is taken up with the nav bar, and a HUGE banner to do with the article, then an ad, then I might get a few lines of text if I am lucky before I have to scroll to read the rest of the story.

I have attached an image to show what I mean.

Kimbie

Thanks Nikumba.

As we put new designs/layouts into play, we realize we aren't going to please everyone. That said, we do appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming, because we ARE listening and do take your suggestions/comments seriously. We're always working to make things better around here.

It's worse on the forum! I can't even see the first post when viewing on my SP3 :unhappy:

This is what I see in desktop mode on my laptop (resolution 1920 x 1080, so not exactly small...)

Notice I don't see the large banner advert because I have a TPL in use.

In full screen mode (no task bar), I can just about see the first line of the post.

Personally, I'd like to be able to hide the top story rotator bar and get some useable screen real estate back- I normally go to the front page for articles.

Well I just discovered that the "Trending now" thing has an X on it so I clicked that and now I can see two lines of actual text instead of zero. I never look at or use any of the stuff that appears above my avatar in the forums, would be nice to be able to hide that.

There are already a couple of things you can do in the forums... you can click that 'x' in the top right corner of the 'trending now', 'top forums' area... this will collapse the section. You can do the same with the sidebar down the right hand side of the site.

In terms of the site header at the top of the page (with links to all stories), and the feature image at the top of articles, these aren't going away anytime soon, but I've passed along the feedback.
