Windows Central Question
Latest Win10 Update ( 09/03/2015) removed Desktop mode
After the latest Win10 updates today I no longer have my 8.1 desktop. Windoze starts in a revised Metro ui mode and there's no Desktop tile. No right click on taskbar to view properties and no way in settings to set up desktop mode. Rightclick on empty space in taskbar shows 3 options " Show app icons"; "Show all notification icons" and "Show toouch keyboard icon".
At least the 1st option gives me my original taskbar Icons.
Win10 recovery is no use as it will remove all my apps. Control Panel System recovery fails to return to any of the previous restore points due to a missing XML file.
Now exhausted all my knowledge and cannot return to my original 8.1 OS due to timeout from installation
Regards
David
