Lens Flare

Is there a way to reduce lens flare? I actually have a lot of issues with the pics that my Titan II camera has taken, but I assume a lot of it has to do with my using auto settings. One of the issues that I have is lens flare. Any time I take a pic at night, lights in the background look like a star exploding. Is there a camera setting to help mitigate this?

I have a Casemate case, which deosnt appear to cover the lens itself. I could try taking a pic without it.

You try cuz I did encounter same problem, in my observation its the flash's light reflected back to the lens thru the phone case. Try not using flash just adjust the ISO and brightness'...
