In this video there were talks about ability to choose
ISO, white balance,
Shutter speed of up to 30 seconds
f/1.8 vs f/2.2 on the 1020
In the video there are images of night photos which looks like it came straight out of a dslr camera with no noise at all.
Obviously i know that images in real life would always vary what they advertise but still. At the moment, Im kinda worried for the 940.

Yep. And rumoured to be announced at end of month.
With a leather back! Hooray! The practicality of holding shiny, slippery devices in warm climates has dawned on the material spec guys!
With the battery on my 1020 lasting <6 hours, it'll likely get tossed in the "olds" drawer and a G4 ordered.
I've no particular allegiance to any ecosystem :D

Backstabber! lol jk
Too bad no rumours on the 1040 though, what if it was just launched along the side of the 940 like BOOM, here, two new flagship phones, that'd be so awesome.

F1.8 lens vs 1.5 on the 1020, still very close though

You are mixing 2 different things. Sensor size vs aperture. LG : senzor size unknown and aperture is 1.8. Lumia 1020: sensor 1.5, aperture is 2.2 if I remember well.
