Lighting Bolt and cogs

Happy Holidays everyone. My friends Lumia 920 battery drained completely. I plugged it in, and there is a lighting bolt and cog on the screen. Can you help?

If a battery and a lightning bolt is on the screen, don't worry. It's charging normally.

If there's a cog in there...I recommend until the phone charges enough to the point where it should power on. Then, if the spinning cogs ensue, wait a bit more. If they stay there for at least an hour (maybe two), hit the nuke and perform a hard reset.

Thanks, after 30 min I did a soft reset. Unplugged, and replugged again. Started right up.
