Hi All,
Some of us are happy with the Android Apps support and some of us are not. But i guess it will help a big app gap be filled.

We need to maintain a list of apps that work and dont work so that we can "bug" the developers of the apps that dont work to fix it as soon as possible.

Here are some apps that i have tried and worked

These kinds of thread are frowned upon. And by frowned upon I mean summarily deleted by the mods. Anyway, I'm not a mod, so do as you please! ;)
Well that's sucks! What's wrong with more apps! We need them! If the dev gets paid for either an initial buy or in app purchase model ......who cares he gets paid! If its free then yeah no that's no good but if we have to pay im all for it. No worse than jail breaking or rooting! I need a few apps that are on android. And would pay for them if there set up that way.

Quizup has a very good Windows Phone app, I don't see why we need the Android one.

Pretty sure we're just axing instructions and whatnot.

I only have one phone and I cant afford to have it offline, otherwise I would contribute.

Why? What's wrong with android apps on WP? I thought that was that Astoria deal?

That Astoria Deal was leaked. It's an unauthorized distribution of Microsoft Intellectual Property.

The reason why a list is needed is so that the developers get a headsup and are ready before the big launch. Some apps just work and some need a bit of modification.

I don't know from Quizup, but one of the sore points that might be addressed through sideloading Android apps is that even when a developer stoops and slums to release a W10M version of a popular Android/iOS app, they don't always or often update the W10M version as often as the other platform versions. So W10M are continually playing catch-up still. I used to see this with BB ported Android apps vs BB10 Native apps. On release, the Native apps were often superior, but fell behind so that I sometimes sideloaded Android apps even thought there were old native apps available. If the sideloading and porting is stable and simple enough, its not a big deal.

One of the reasons I like windows phone is their store is not filled with a lot of malware that you find on Android. I would prefer to have fewer apps but know that anything I downloaded from the store is safe. I think anyone that side loads apps is putting themself at risk getting apps and tools from a questionable source.

Below is a list of apps that are supposed to work. Given that they were collected on a page that also lists instructions I can't link to the source...

Much appreciated on that point.

...but Google is your friend. Well not really, but it's useful...

Myself, personally; Google once was my friend and we went everywhere together. Then Google started bullying me with ads and became my frenemy. Next, Google's head swelled up so large it thought it just had a natural right to be involved in everything I did and connected to or looked at. Google screamed at me that I had to have a Google + profile to use YouTube fully and I'd better sign in to Google if I wanted to comment on a video. All I ever heard from Goggle was, "We are Google, we are Mighty! Google, Google, Google!" Google invaded my inbox with ads faster than my adblock could adapt. It got very tiring fighting Google all the time.

I decided, "No, Google, you are not the boss of me and you are not the only game in town." That little Google perched on my shoulder snarking at me all day long? I killed it. Killed it joyfully.

Google is a friend only to Google. New Google ate the old, cool Google long ago and users are becoming Google-Zombies.

Google ruined Google for everyone but Google...

As always, these apps will not be able to use the camera, so no check scanning in banking apps, even if they are listed as 'working'.

So nothing you can't do in a browser. Not sure why anyone would bother. I also wonder what metrics these banks are collecting when Windows Phone users log onto their accounts this way. At a guess I would think there will be some security repercussions coming from the banks. It's their App (built in house or purchased by them and monitored in house) and their responsibility to plug security breaches. I wouldn't doubt they see this as a security breach, this unauthorized distribution which is out of their control for updates and other critical security aspects.

Given how many apps seem to work with no developer modifications required, I honestly think it's a safe bet that many of these will be added to the store by the original publisher. It's just too easy not to. I'm hopeful!

Yeah, but this is a developer decision, not one users should be making. If I can intercept a crate of oranges slated for Walmart, paying for them even, it may not necessarily follow that the grower and distributor wants to see me selling them or would condone this rerouting.

Many developers simply may not want to be associated with Windows Phone. We've seen it before. It's sad, but it is also their right.

So now a question, given that MS hasn't officially released Astoria, would the store accept these as submissions once W10m has been released? At that time these could run, right? Interesting times ahead.

Submitted by whom?

Certainly a developer could submit their App for inclusion in the Store.

You seem to be hinting that anyone could submit the App? That way lies peg-legs and parrots.

If you want to use a snapchat app you can sideload with Astoria then use Casper app, the front camera works when you set the camera the app uses to the installed camera, the great thing is that even if your account got banned you should be able to login on the app with it.

How is this thing working????
When something is leaked it goes to the head of the window central news then the editor talk about it and\or talk about how to and in the forum you can't talk about it.
That's doesn't make sense

Fly Delta app works really well.

You just need to deploy the keyboard fix. As is with most of the apps, without the keyboard it's useless.
