Live Tiles

Anybody else wish tiles were a lot more live? I don't think they update / change near enough. Think there will be more options about the frequency in future w10 releases?

Which tiles specifically? Most require the app to be permitted to run in the background. If not, then they only update when said app is in use. I think there may also be a setting in some apps to only update over WiFi, but I may be wrong.

Yes, and the tiles should update with new content, more often. They show off nicely when other people seem them, but the content should change. Maybe 3 flipping sides? Also, I wish there were more live tiles allowed to be active at once.

Mainly Stock and news apps, but really just in general. It seems it will pick one or two headlines and just rotate the same 2 stories all day, for instance.

Do you mean to say, that you think only the stock and news apps SHOULD update more often, in general? That you are observing, that you see that typically, an app will pick one or two headlines and just rotate the same 2 stories all day? If so, I agree with your observations, but I still wish MORE apps, of all kinds, updated content, more often.

I would like faster than 30 minutes refresh for my NOAA Hi-Def Radar Live Tile... I'm smack dab in the middle of tornado alley here. Stuff can jump up pretty quickly.

I agree that more refreshing would be nice, as long as it doesn't affect battery life much.

I have to agree about live tiles, they are great concepts but still not done properly. Even a simple thing like the email is not very useful since you have to wait for the tiles to flip one after another to see what you want. And on top of that clicking on the item displaying on the tile just opens the app but won't take you to the particular item displaying on the tile. Right now, it's just easier to open the app and get your work done.

The only live tiles I find useful are the calendar tile and the weather tile, all the others I just use as shortcuts to the apps.

I just wish text was not cut off continuing into the right edge of the tile.
