Do custom ringtones not work yet in build 10536? I have tried everything to get a custom ringtone setup. My ringtone file is an mp3 and 456 KB in size. It's genre is set to "Ringtone" and is loaded in the Ringtone folder on my 1520, but it doesn't show in the ringtone list in settings. I also tried texting it to myself and then trying to set it as a ringtone from the message, but is just says:

Can't load sounds
Sorry, there was a problem loading sounds.

So, connect to your PC, find a Ringtone folder, copy ringtone, paste to Ringtones folder. Then you'll be asked to covert the file, choose yes and you're done. Worked for me.

I copied ringtones from my PC into the ringtone folder on the phone and did the conversion as described in the previous post, however the new ringtone doesn't appear in the dropdown list under settings:personalization:sounds. I have a 735 running 10536 plus the patch that didn't change the version.

I did all of that. I was never asked to convert the file. It just copies the mp3 right to the Ringtone folder (which I can see on the device when using the file explorer app) and never shows in the Ringtone drop-down list.

Well, here's another thing you guys can try. Do the same thing above but convert the ringtone file to .wma (since mine is), if hat doesn't work then try .m4r, i think it it's something like that.

Finally got it to work. I converted my files to m4r (actually m4a then rename to m4r). When copying from PC to phone I was asked whether to convert the files. I had to say no (don't convert) to get them on the phone as m4r files. When I said yes (for conversion), they were converted to wma files and were not recognized as ringtones.

I used Audacity for conversion.

The magic formula, works like a charm. Thanks.

They work flawlessly on the new update of the alarm and clock app. They even let u browse the file manager to choose which I hope can be done in the next update in the ringtones section of the settings app
