I've read some threads of users having trouble logging in when not connected to the Wi-Fi they created the account with. So, if I take my Surface with me when I leave the house tomorrow, will I be able to login if there is no Wi-Fi around?

And what happens if I switch to a local account?

I have logged in successfully several times without a wifi connection (twice my surface had issues with the wifi adapter after a restart), so you're good there.
