Low alert volume

I recently bought Lumia 620. The alert tones are very low (even when my phone volume is at max). The alarm is so low that one can hardly hear it when one is awake.

Is this a problem with the model or my phone? or am I doing something wrong?

That's very odd, the alarm sound is independent of the system volume. This is so it can never be muted by accident.

Mine is very loud. Very, very loud.

I would suggest a soft reset and changing the alarm tone.

It should start off quiet and get loud enough to wake the dead. If it doesn't fix, then i suggest taking it back for exchange.
