Cheaper iPhone will hack in the Android market first and foremost seeing how it's priced as a higher-midrange android phone.

"I have an iPhone" is more luxurious than saying "I have a Nokia", most people care about the prestige and screen size more than processor or RAM or the specs as a whole.

People would pay 100$ more for an iPhone than buying a 520/620 Lumia.

like it or not, iOS is still more user-friendly to people than Windows Phone 8 because the latter introduces a new idea of live tiles while the first has an outdated (?) idea of "column column icon icon", common people accept the "column column icon icon" idea more than WP8's idea.

and unfortunately, most people care about applications more than the hardware and software of the device.
