Hi,

Do anyone here using 4G in India.

I just got the 4G sim and found that it wont work with Lumia 1520, since in India we use 2300mhz for 4G.

Any other way we can enable that frequency in our phone or like that ?

According to the specifications of the L1520, the 2300MHz band isn't compatible with the L1520. There is no way to enable a different frequency aside from those designed into the phone... unless replacing the antenna, the antenna drivers and the main board is an option (might as well replace the entire phone), and that isn't even guaranteed to work.

I think you should sue them for selling 4G phones those won't support the band. Its fooling the customers. And you are paying for a feature that doesn't even work.

Have you tried accessing the radio via Field Test Menu? Maybe there are disabled frequencies on board.

Which RM # do you have?

Well I think Airtel is rushing up the release with 2300mhz since they have approval for that and most other provider waiting for 2100mhz band.

Here is my screen snap of info

RM-937 has no LTE radio on board. Any "4G" they refer to would be "faux G" HSPA or H+.

Don't bother with Field Test. Nothing to see there.

Airtel LTE is TD LTE which almost none of thr Nokia phones support. Reliance Jio and Vodafone will be launching with FD-LTE which almost all 4G phones support.

Sue whom? Who advertised these phones with 4G? Nokia even disables 4G in the Indian firmwares and can only be enabled by flashing a different firmware. None of the website listings say 4G either.

Since i work for a network provider in India, i completely agree. TD LTE - 2300mhz, band 40 not supported by L 1520 -RM 937

Do any network provider decided to launch LTE with the band supported my 1520 and most of the other sold devices in India ?
Yes, read what I wrote earlier. Almost everyone except Airtel will use FD-LTE, for now that is Vodafone and Reliance Jio. I am assuming by the time they do launch it, the 1520 will be obsolete .

RM-937 is international version LTE enabled as per Nokia Developers site which is now no more
I raised this issue in Lumia forums a year back.
RM-937 available in India do not have LTE, but other international versions have where LTE is there when phone was introduced.

I can confirm that in Delhi at least Airtel also uses FD-LTE and works on my 830 (finnish ROM)

Airtel 4G in Delhi / NCR is on both 2300 MHz (Band 40 - TDD) and 1800 MHz (Band 3 - FDD). Here is an excerpt from a newspaper on the subject:

?Today, as we launch Airtel 4G trials exclusively for our existing customers in Delhi NCR ? our customers in the region will be uniquely positioned to experience India?s first integrated FD and TD 4G network,? Bharti Airtel (India) Hub CEO (Delhi NCR and Rajasthan) Sarang Kanade said. According to sources, Ericsson is providing the network for FD (1800 Mhz) and Huawei for TD (2300 MHz) network.

It is a ROM update issue with India specific Lumia 1520. It will need a ROM update to unlock 1800MHz FDD LTE capability on Lumia 1520. It works on my Lumia 1520 flashed with Singapore ROM and I am able to connect to 4G. 4G shows up in the option for available maximum data speed. Also, as I have installed latest Windows Mobile 10 Insider preview (10149) on my phone, I get the following options in the max data speed:
2G, 3G Only, 3G, 4G Only, 4G.

Microsoft needs to update the ROM ASAP now that operators are beginning to roll out 1800MHz FDD LTE.

Yes, with more provider set to roll put FD-LTE in India soon, it is a waste that people have compatible phones, with 4G disabled. Not many can flash ROMs on their phones.

An update....an update recently rolled out unlocks 4G. I have seen this on 830 and 1520 at least.

Yes, so I believe every phone comes with every band on its hardware. Just the manufacturer disabled the frequency using OS.

And I believe they pushed update only because of Airtel request since we don't see 2300 band in spec sheet but now we got 4g working surprisingly.
