Lumia 1020 with official cyan and DP preview 1 lag problems

Hi,

I have a lumia 1020 and have had the developer preview program since it came out which has been great, I have update 1 with folders now. I got the official cyan update a couple of weeks ago which made my phone much smoother than dp alone. However after the cyan update there was another DP update, after downloading that one my phone has become noticeably laggy when returning to the start screen as well as some other bugs (camera won't stop taking pictures, heating up, battery etc).

At this point I can't handle the lag anymore and crave a smooth wp experience again. I have searched the forums and am more confused than ever. I would like to get off of the DP program and have a clean instal of Cyan (even if it means no more folders), or whatever else to get my 1020 running smooth again. I tried a soft reset with no improvement.

WHAT SHOULD I DO???

1. Do a hard reset? Will this wipe the DP program or take me back to wp 8.0? I also read somewhere to do this after big updates. How is this different from option 2?

2. Use Nokia software recovery? I have a mac and cannot use this so I am not sure if it is even possible.

In summary, I want to get rid of whatever software is causing my lag.

I don't think you can uninstall the DP. You need to hard reset and then just not install the DP app once it's refreshed. Or if you do install it, don't flick the switch within the app.
The hard reset will wipe all data/settings off that handset, go Settings>About>Reset my phone.

So a hard reset will put me back at a clean 8.1 and cyan install?

I finally got around to the hard reset. I deleted the dp preview and made a backup. After reseting and recovering backup I still have 8.1 update 1 with dp preview tiles and occasional animation home screen lag.

I thought a hard reset would give me a clean install of 8.1. Am I missing something?
