My battery is better on all my phones after 8.1

Me too! 8.1 has been great. I made sure that all apps and systems apps (i.e. glance, access points etc) are updated before I upgraded to 8.1. A couple of reboots(after upgrade and before) too wouldn't hurt. Make sure to check if the camera is working before and after.

Not quite yet... already have the swipe/tap bug, don't want to risk more despite how much I want to upgrade. I'll wait for the official release with Cyan. Taking full advantage of this bad boy with my switch to unlimited LTE :D

Upgraded to 8.1 - amazing is an understatement. swipe/tap is the same as was with 8.0 (once in a while) - only bug (?!) is the battery....

Well, B&H has dropped the 7-14 days shipping on the black one and changed the status to "back ordered." Can't say I'm surprised.

Hey guys I know most of you want this for the Qi wireless charging, but for those of you after the correct T-Mobile AWS + LTE bands in a 6" form factor, don't forget about the 1320. When I ordered my white 1520 (RM-938 a few weeks back I also ordered an orange 1320 (RM-995) as well (both from Newegg). This is the little brother of the 1520.3 meant for Central America, so it also supports all the right bands for T-Mobile. It's only $310 with promo code. Just something to consider. I've been using them both for a little bit now and I'm finding that the 1320 meets all my needs with an SD card and WP8.1, and I think the orange is stunning :). It also, like the 1520.3, works with tethering after installing the Spanish (Spain) keyboard. And both models keep tethering after upgrading to WP8.1 as long as you don't hard reset. Anyway, it looks like I might be selling the white RM-938 in the near future. If so, I'll be throwing in a wireless charging stand and plate (both white). I'll keep you guys posted.

I looked at this on both Negri and NewEgg, and neither one shows it having the 1700 band. The NewEgg listing even specifically states that it works on T-Mobile's 2G. Do you have a link to a model that shows 1700/2100 compatability? I wouldn't be interested anyway because the main thing driving my search is that I wanted a top flight camera and display that works well outdoors. This looks like it falls short on both counts.

The info on Newegg is wrong. I too ordered both from Newegg and both support T-Mobile USA perfectly. I'm selling my 1320 if anyone is interested, used less than a day.

I've had an order in with B&H for a few days, and today I emailed them after seeing the status changed to "back ordered." I asked if there were any assurances they would actually get the phone again. Here's their reply:

"Hello Dave Clary, my name is <snip>

I apologize for your concern. I will request that we check about this for you and confirm we will still be getting these. As soon as we hear back from our vendor, we will communicate the info with you."

Yes, the Newegg listing is wrong. They show the specs for the RM-994. This is in fact the RM-995 (1320.1). It supports HSPA+ bands 850/AWS/1900/2100 and LTE bands 700/850/1700/1900. I personally don't mind the camera (I'm not much of a photographer), but there is no doubt that the 1520 has amuch better camera. And while the 1520 has a higher resolution, they are both beautiful displays and both work equally well in sunlight. In fact, if I was forced to say which screen was brighter, I'd say the 1320, but it's really too close to call.

If this is correct, then it is missing the bands needed to work on T-Mobile's HSPA+ which is 1700/2100. So this would be just like using an unlocked AT&T 1520--great if you're on LTE or in a refarmed area; otherwise, it's 2G.

P.s If the AWS reference means 1700/2100, then never mind, but my understanding was that there are different flavored of AWS. The listing for the 1520.3 specifically lists 1700/2100.

The only 3G/HSPA+ band the RM-995 lacks that the RM-938 does not is band 8 (900MHz)

Cool. It looks like a good deal but it's gonna take a better camera for me to give up the Note 2.
And although I didn't start out thinking this way, I'm anxious to try out WP--a little change of pace from six years of Android.
