As more of an "audio expert" than the average guy (eh...me), can you recommend some inexpensive headphones? Preferably ones that have a mix in them to handle calls as well .

Take a look at the Xiaomi Piston 2s or the Audio Technica Mxx series. In regards to the former, be very careful about fakes - even on Amazon
