Hi guys!! Just want to tell you the Lumia 525 8.1 is AVAILABLE NOW in some countries.

Hello everyone, I have a Lumia 525 HK CV and the 8.1 cyan is getting downloaded on to my phone as we speak. Please note that checking for updates didn't work but on connecting my phone to the Nokia Software Recovery Tool, I am able to download the update. The size is 1.63 GB.

On a side note, I could install 8.1 on my sister's 620 India CV also through the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. Checking for updates didn't show any updates.

Wait, what is this thing about using NSRT? I thought that was for phones on a developer preview to downgrade to WP8 first before they can update official firmware. I can't see the update prompt on my 525 but ofcourse they may not have opened it for Pakistan yet.

Well I didn't have 8.1 DP on my phone. On the 620 thread I had read someone suggesting to use NSRT and I did that for 620 as well as my 525

does it say Lumia black or Lumia cyan?

I haven't enrolled myself in the developer preview program. The extras+ info d says cyan

As for others who updated with the NSRT no need to get over excited this is kinda developer preview as Cortana is not enabled in this version hopefully will get cortana when the final release comes up

I installed Lumia cyan on my 525 using NSRT and have also enabled Cortana by changing language and region to US.....

If you are talking about Cortana alpha for India then that requires DP 8.1.1...

The phone restored my backup. I don't game a lot so I'm not sure if the gaming data is lost but all my other apps were restored. Loving the new update.

As for Cortana, I'll wait for update 1
