hey guys , just a newbie here .. i just ask my lumia 620 after i go to setting , about and reset phone its showing a two gears and until now it just showing two gears for 4 hours .. what can i do ? anyone ever this experiece? soryy for bad english i just wanna my lumia back thanks

Hi, hoping for a quick bit of advice re the same issue. Reset my phone today and after 1.5 hrs the cogs of death were still going (sim and sd removed, power cable attached). I followed the instructions above, and after an hour (just under) held the three buttons until the screen went black, then took finger of power button followed by the phone vibrating. Screen then gives a Nokia logo for about 10 seconds, and then back to the cogs of death for at least 45 mins until i redo the same (three times doing the same thing). If i do the hard reset and hold onto the buttons at the black screen nothing happens (held it for a least a minute). Phone is getting very warm, and have even power off, removed the battery for an hour and tried again to no joy, any suggestion before i get rude with Nokia !!!!

I faced same problem last time I tried to hard reset my Lumia 620. After 1 hour, it was still showing two gears.

I pulled the battery out, and leaved the phone without battery for an hour. After an hour, I putted the battery back to the phone and turned on the phone. gears showed for a few minutes and then phone successfully booted.

Please let me know if this solved your problem.

hmmm....nice to see that am not alone in this plight!
my plight started yesterday when i tried resetting my Lumia 620 to factory setting due to replication of media files and irregular auto phone rebooting on its own. My phone is stock on the 2 gear spinning screen since yesterday..........i just stumbled on this forum this morning and am currently trying out all the suggestions offered by others to see if i can rectify the issue.
Will report back on the outcome.
please if anybody has any suggestion it will be greatly appreciated.

WOW!!! My Lumia 620 is Back!!!!
Steps Taken
pulled out the battery and waited for an Hr. replaced the battery and waited...but problem was not solved!

plugged the phone into electric socket and waited for the 2 gear screen to pop up.
once it came up, i performed hard reset (pressed -vol button+lock button and camera button together and waited for the phone to vibrate)
the 2 gear screen came up again and after about 10mins the phone rebooted and load up properly
N/B: i had my memory card and sim card removed while performing the above steps)

me too having the same problem....and i hav also tried the same technique but NO RESULTS....
i took off my sim card and memory card
and also tried the battery out method but no results....

Just do hard reset for few times, wait an hour for every hard reset, i did 3 times when i faced this problem until my 620 restart normally.

I was facing the same issue from yesterday night. I tried to hard&soft reset my lumia 620 many times and nothing helped.

Today morning I just removed my battery for an hour.
After an hour I put my battery back and connected my phone to the charger
After few seconds the spinning gear appeared
After that I did hard reset my phone
Phone restarted and the spinning gear appeared again
I waited for 4 mins
My lumia 620 restarted and loaded properly.

i had reset my phone due to low memory space..but now the two gears are just spinning since 5hrs..i tried the volume down+power button combination thrice but still itz not booting..really worried and tensed about my phone..plzz help..im missing my lumia!! :crying:

try removing the battery for about 3omins.......then replace the battery and perform hard reset again.

I've been through this. go download Nokia software updater, then let it download 620's firmware (around 1.3GB in size) and it'll flash the firmware.
