lumia 630 a fail???

front facin camera is a requirement but rear camera could also be a good workaround . or better buy a superior phone.

What if it is a dual-LTE SIM, will you still think of it as a failure?

I think, despite its name, this will be more of a LUMIA 520 successor at about the same price, which will bring a possible future LUMIA 530 to even lower price points. Exactly as Elop said in MWC. They will bring LUMIAS to even lower prices.

So, if what you are looking for is a true 620 successor, you probably should wait for a LUMIA 730, as by using this one you will probably lose some functionalities.

I think the real successor for 620 will be upcoming Lumia 635 single sim with LTE.

I absolutley agree. I also think they are trying to pull the lineup a bit further apart. The 620 was an excellent little phone, but it was always a bit the odd one out. Announced before the 520/720, it was lacking super sensitive touch, FM radio and had a smaller screen than the 520. If they wish to keep 5 phones in their "normal" lineup (i.e. the non-phablet, non photo monster sub-1000 range), they need to better differentiate the models.

Hopefully, the 630 being launched around $150 will mean a 530 at or below $120. Hell, if MS discontinues the X line, that design could even be recycled as a sub $100 Lumia 430.

Not a successor for the 620, but not a fail too, in any manner. (Is there a Lumia that's a fail at all?)

This phone will sit between 520 and 620, and as it will have a dual-sim variant (635, I guess), this will make the phone sell like fresh water in the desert. In emergent markets like China and Brazil will sell a lot, or where it's advantageous to use dual-sim.

Now I wonder how the Lumia 530 (aka Rock) will be. Probably will be the cheapest Lumia thing ever made, in the level of the 510. But the folks already have the 525, so there's no problems on the low-end range with Nokia.

Future Lumia 730 would be attractive and a truly successor, if the keep at the least half the sexiness of the original 720. Or Nokia can scramble all the features of the phones in the new line-up, who knows.

630 is a decent upgrade to the 520. not the 525 or any other phone. i guess i have reason to hold on to my 720

I'm using 625 and I'll never ever get a 630 or 635, because it is designed so bad :( (930 4Ever)

In my country, one of those emerging markets Nokia's focusing on, people don't use front facing camera in low end devices. For high end devices, they prefer Samsung's or Iphone. So in reality, 630 is an upgrade for 520.

I don't think so unless it is as good as high end phones. The FFcamera of 620 is not that good and I really don't use it as much. So I don;t know why would anyone label it as a failure when its not even released yet. Unless you got a time machine and already know the future.

Lack of front camera, lack of an LED flash, stays on 512 MB of RAM means not an upgrade from a Lumia 620. It's more like an upgrade of the 520. To be fair though, it's the experience that counts, not the specs.
