Hi all - I'm looking to buy the Lumia 630, but wanted to clarify a couple of things, so would appreciate any feedback from people who own or have played with this device.

1. Is it possible to configure the start screen to only have one column of tiles? I know you can have up to 3 or 4 columns in Win 8.1, but is it possible to only have wide tiles that take up the full width of the start screen?

2. I keep reading conflicting information on this - is there an audio equaliser on the 630?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can arrange tiles in single column manually but not all tiles can be set to full screen width. Regarding the equaliser, WP 8.1 brings this feature which was only available before when using headphones but I guess on selected models only. My 1020 is updated to 8.1 but still no equaliser for speakers.

Yep , it's possible . All you have to do is switch to 2 tiles configuration and use full wide tiles instead of small ones.

*hit thanks😁 *

Thanks for the replies guys.

no equalizer for 630
That's disappointing. Even when headphones are plugged in?

Re number of columns on Start screen - I finally found a store this afternoon with a working display model (had spent ages looking without luck, hence my thread here) - but when I went to Settings -> start + theme, I couldn't see the "Show More Tiles" setting. The display model only had 2 columns (same as WP8.0), so I thought that perhaps the 630 is actually just restricted to 2 columns. Is that not the case?

nope no equalizer even with or without headphones. no need to get disappointed the audio quality is stunning.
i use poweramp on my android . when i brought the 630 and discovered that there is no eq i thought i might get crippled but no.
i use my sennheiser, sony, philips, panasonic and jbl with my 630. never felt need for EQ
