Lumia 635 glance

Okay, I know that the 635 cannot support glance, but is it theoretically possible, or is it a hardware limitation?

Note: Onscreen buttons are not a hardware limitation.

hardware limitation. AFAIK, the screen doesn't have display memory, just like the 930

On screen buttons are just plain hardware emulated buttons. Glance disables most of the pixels to save battery. If you're thinking that Microsoft should just emulate Glance using the on-screen button methodology then that would mean the screen would have to be lit up all the time. Not sure how much of a battery hog that would be

Hardware limitation, screen has no memory thus would have to remain powered on all the time draining the battery within mere hours.
