It most assuredly is an issue! If you want to play most games in the store the lack of a full GB if RAM will impact you negatively.

And merely stating Win 10 will fix everything simply underscores how obsolete the 635 will be as Win 10 is at least 10 mos away!

I've owned the 635 from release and the build materials are cheap (crappy screen, plasticky back) but the build quality is high. This phone can survive a drop or two most definitely.

Unlike the 830s there are no touch issues. All the buttons are responsive as well as the screen.

It's the crappy and incomplete OS that is the problem.

Just as the Denim update brings features only to the newer phones you can expect the 635 to receive squat from Win 10.

Further reading this post I come to the conclusion that who cares if this phone becomes outdated did you spend 600 bucks on it ? I know I paid 125 for mine and by the time windows 10 phone releases there will likely be the 640/645 to drop another 124-150 on. By then all the issues with the 535 will be ironed out and you could probably grab it for around 75 bucks.

And yes as we start to see more windows phone 8.1 apps we will see a large improvement in ram management because there is no longer alocated ram on a per app basis.

So if windows 10 sees even further improved ram management on the back end we most definitely see it even on the lowly 520

EE are currently offering this phone for ?49.99 + ?20 pay as you go credit (must use every 180 days), so I thought I would try it. Unfortunately my phone has the previously reported dodgy headphone socket meaning audio often only comes out of one headphone - I tried a brand new set of headphones and still had problems so will have to get it exchanged next week. At least knowing I wasn't going to keep it I could play around with the phone freely and not worry about it at all.

For ?50 I think it is the best phone you'll ever get (with future inflation). However I would say performance is only half as good as the Moto G LTE which I also have. Screen isn't as good, nor audio output (even when I can get stereo) and it is noticably slower in everything it does except the initial start-up.

I would say the phone isn't worth spending ?100 or more on unless like me you want one of the last ever Nokia's. Get the Moto G LTE if you are going to spend that kind of money.

The phone's strengths are it is smaller and lighter and much easier to hold than the Moto G, Windows Phone 8.1 is easier and simpler to use than stock Android (though IMO HTC Sense 6.0 is currently the easiest to use operating system), the 5MP camera is better than that on the Moto G 8MP even in low light (which is the main reason why I got it - for taking quick snaps mainly of the cat or taking snaps wherever a phone is more likely to get nicked - i.e. down the river on a weekday lunchtime). The free sat nav also appears excellent, so the phone should still be useable as a basic phone, sat nav and a camera for years to come. It's also well built. Spotify BBC iPlayer and Youtube also work on it which are must haves for me, not sure whether they will for long though given that this is one the last 512MB RAM phones. I use my Moto G though for the apps, but prefer Windows Phone to Android as a personal organiser etc.

My opinion though is unless you can get it at a knock down price and you should be able to in the next few months, wait and get the successor, the phone is not worth ?100 or more due to outdated specs, but for ?50 you are unlikely to ever get a better LTE phone.

I have the black version which is boring but looks a lot better than the luminous green or orange colours.

I love my 635 the only thing is my power button is feeling a little soft and not very clicky anymore.also the headphone jack thing isn't really an issue just pull the headphone jack out a millimeter or so
