Best Buy has the Lumia 640 AT&T Go Phone on sale for $29.99. They will only allow you to buy 1... If you buy one, get the unlock code from the AT&T unlock portal before you turn the phone on.

Walmart also selling it for $29.88. You can save $0.11 that way. I did. Purchase online, then do an in-store pickup. Only way they are doing it at this price.

I got two of them last time Walmart had them at that price. I unlocked them both, but I'm still using one on AT&T. The other one is my backup! Put WP 10 Insider on it and it's been pretty great!. Sure beats my Lumia 521 that I thought was a steal when I got it for $50.00. The plastic packaging at Walmart is a nightmare though!

Wow, I just bought my Lumia 640 last week for $60 at Walmart (still worth the price).

Yesterday morning the Best Buy near my house was selling the phone for $29.99. By the time I got home, they no longer had it available. The nearest store that has it available is in the next city over (Clearwater, FL).

The Microsoft online store is sold out.

Looks like people might be hoarding.

That is the best value in any phone that I can think of. Replacing a camera on one of those would cost you $20, a new back $10, and you can buy a brand new whole phone for $30. Outrageous.

I've finally caved in to the allure of the Killer Price Lumia 640. I found 3 sellers have this (although Microsoft Store online is out of stock.)

We have a thread on this in the Deals Forum. http://forums.windowscentral.com/mi...a-640-msft-wants-everyone-us-own-phone-;.html

I ordered mine from Walmart.com last night at 11:14 PM and it was ready for my in-store pickup at 12:23 AM (1hr 09 min).

I was on Amazon just after I purchased the phone. Ordered an Orange battery cover, crystal clear acrylic snap on case and a Tempered Glass screen protector. About $55 for the phone all kitted out, sales tax for everything and delivery for the accessories included.

Could I use a T-Mobile sim on this even though it's an AT&T phone? Asking because my mom needs a replacement badly. I'm worried that it wouldn't get updates.

it'll get updates as ATT sees fit, even with a tmobile sim. If you put on W10 Insiders on, then you control updates.

So, can you install W10 on a brand new 640 before you've signed into your Microsoft account? Or, do you need to sign into your account, sync all your settings, etc., then install W10 via the Insider's program?

Not to mention, the battery alone is normally $27.95, and I see it on sale once in a while for $21.95.

First time I bought a tempered glass screen protector, they sent me too many. I ordered one, I got 2. When I got my 2nd one from $29.88 from Walmart, I already had the tempered glass protector. I just ordered a new Fosman case, and bought a nice new leather holster for it. In all, I came out just a few cents under $50 total for everything. Since one is only a backup, I didn't really need a new case or holster. I just wanted something new.

Awesome thanks. Would I still need to unlock it? I saw an earlier thread about "de-branding your Lumia 640". Is that the same thing?

First, take the sim that comes in the phone out. Next, get the IMEI off the box. Go to ATT’s unlock page, and select the radio button that says “non-att customer”. Then, fill out the form and submit the request. You should get the code in a day or two, at worst, three. After you get the code, then put in your non-ATT sim. The phone will ask for the code – enter and you’re ready to go.

Debranding just removes the ATT apps and splash screen, it does not unlock your phone. Don’t worry with all of that for now.

FWIW, I've been through the ATT unlock thing plenty of times...

I think they may be having a server issue ATM. I never get my email with the "click to confirm" link. Tried twice today.
