Lumia 640 to be priced around 7500 - 8000 INR?

First of all, this is truly not my source. An import data sheet from Indian Customs released. It shows the price of L640 is ₹ 4683 and L640 XL is ₹ 6710 before tax and custom duty. Lets calculate the rest..

Base Price of L640 = ₹ 4683

~ Custom's duty in India is minimum 30% approx which makes the price to ₹4683 + [₹4683 *0.3] = ₹6088/-

~ VAT/CST for Mobile phone is 5%. so adding this will make the final price as ₹6392. When the device go through dealers and agencies, the price may increase to ₹7500- 8000 for sure. For me, its a decent price for the attractive specs.:smile:

i dont think its gone be priced less than lumia 535 depending on the specs(currently L535 is more than 8k).........we should also consider the profits of the seller to estimate the price

Yes, I have added a minimum of 1500 - 2000 as their profit. It may shoot up ~ depends..

I am guessing the price will be 9999 for 640 and 11999 for 640XL.
But at those prices, sales will be slow because 640 does not have 4G LTE, only 8GB storage, no Gorilla Glass display,etc. However is price is around 8k then it would probably sell well but still way less than Android phones.

MS priced the Lumia 640 as ₹11999. Totally disappointed with this price tag. MS need to learn something in pricing when it comes to mid range markets..

Hate to say that "MS did it again". It may be a good price tag but with tons of competitors available pricing must be the key factor. If MS priced L640 below 10K, it 'd create thunderstorms in the market...

Thats what I think! Wanted to get a phone at 10K, a little frustration. Hopefully will get a phone when win10 releases for public.
