Lumia 640xl grainy pics

Hi everyone, today I was in a store (Rome, Italy) taking a look at the Lumia 640xl. Nice Phone for the buck and good camera indeed, however I've noticed some "grain", some noise in every photo taken in the not so good lightining condition of the superstore: even setting ISO at 100 the grainy background remains.

I've seen samples on the web and the Pictures seem generally very good, any issue with bad jpeg compression? Or grainy photo with Lumia 640xl?

Reducing ISO reduces light sensitivity and the graininess might be due to underexposure to begin with...

Without having the phone in hand I can't do any comparisons. Lowering ISO is one trick, but not the only one so maybe you needed to try another adjustment?

I take it this was a demo phone in a store?

One possibility is fingerprint smudges on the camera lens from others handling the device.
There may have been a small round shipping protector on the lens.

Just a thought or two...

Actually I am having the same problem while taking pictures inside the room with enough lights on! mine is in Egypt,

Thnx for the suggestions (the ISO tip could be a nice way to go indeed). I want to but the 640xl, but I think I'll have to go for another store visit and check better.

I'm coming from a 925 and while I Know it won't be the same, I'm trying to figure out How good it is in real life

You may get some benefit from other photo Apps as well. Like Camera360Sight or ProShot. I'm not sure if you can download them to the demo phone though... LOL

I find low light shots turned out pretty ok. Of course, such entry camera will not perform good with extremely low light. Street lightnings shouldn't be too bad.
