Lumia 650 16GB listed FNAC

Awesome if true...
New Windows phones really do need to get off the 8GB storage and 1gig of ram train.

no it is not now but I think originally was. The clock speed suggests that its the 212, as the 210 only gets 1.1

and now the listing is completely gone.

so if indeed the specs that were listed on fnac are correct and WP rumored specs are correct and indeed it does use the 212 it is actually an upgrade to the sd400 used in the 640's and 830.

Even if the 212 is better than the 400 in the 640 it will not appear to most people who view the specs as not being a upgrade just because of the processor being a 2XX series rather than a 4XX series. Dont know if it is or not. I think its a mistake that they put a 2 instead of a little better 4 in the 650 just for what people will think. A 410 (better or not) would have been a better choice.

I agree. I looked into the SD400/SD212 differences and they appear to be so close. SD212 a tiny bit faster CPU, SD400 a bit faster GPU. Similar LTE/WiFi/BT capability. So almost the same. But... the name (SD212 compared to SD400) sounds like a slower device. Logically a higher SD4xx or SD6xx would attract more people.

I don't think the casual phone buyer would even look at that. It is only the enthusiasts who would look that closely at specs. The casual buyer will hold the phone in their hand and play around with it. If it feels good and works well they will buy it regardless of specs. Based on the renders the 650 looks nice, and if it works as well as the 640 it should do fine. I will most likely pick one up. I love the 640 especially for the price.

The other trade off that probably played into their decision is the battery life. If they can get similar power with the 212 and better battery drain it makes perfect sense.

what i like is, it is thinner and ligher than iphone 6s and has a bigger screen. That is what people will see, not qualcomm 212 or 400 or what not.
