Lumia 650 or 640 xl

Reason I ask is this I got the 650 and its great but just after I got it the 640 xl price drops to 259$ Canadian and I still have time to return my 650.
Any thoughts?
That is on Microsoft store Canada.

The things the 640xl has going for it, over the 650:

- better camera
- better battery life
- better processor
- bigger screen

The things I like in the 650 compared to the 640xl:

- windows 10 mobile support to last for a while
- better design (just the looks of it)
- more internal memory

If you need to use the WDRT with the 640xl you'll go down to 8.1 and will have to upgrade all the way back to 10, but with the 650 you'll stay on 10. This imo is a big deal.

Ultimately I would stick with the 650, because it shipped with w10 and you're sure it won't be dropped from the supported list anytime soon. The only reason I would go for the 640xl if I was in your place; better camera and bigger screen. Unless you'll be using the phone for watching movies the whole time, the bigger screen shouldn't be an issue lol

Ty that is a good response and would have to agree will keep the 650 run Insider on it just to see what's new and save up for 950 or 950 xl

While you're saving keep in mind that we're getting new devices next year I think I'm going to save for those, but if they're still above my budget, the 950(XL) will be there and probably under $300

So to add to an old topic , returned the 650 got a used 640xl running slow ring w10 and its definitely better than 650 in every possible way...also had the 950 and 950xl both went back just could not justify 1000$ Canadian tho I do miss the speed of the 950s but honestly the 640xl is quite good on w10 ,surprising good.

The 640/XL does seem like great phone. My sis inlaw loves it, over her 720 in all aspect esp screen for reading. She won't update either phone to W10 anytime soon. The speed and simplicity of 8.1 suits her needs very well.
Side note: I did confirm with the shop sales person about W10 upgrade problems with 640/XL.. it happens on dual SIM units... but not sure if this has been fixed with newer builds

No issues on my dual sim LTE runs awesome and way faster than 8.1 it'sike a completely different phone I say ur sis should try it can always go back to 8.1... Its so worth it.

She's still adjusting to WP from iOS (iP4, which was a really crappy phone compared to 720 (W8.1). She likes the size of 720, fits her palm)
