Lumia 720 no sound

so i got myself L720 in january this year. Everything worked perfectly fine until i recently listened to music on it using headphones and after it all sound has gone from my phone. Sound still works when i plug headphones back in but not without it. I tried plugging headphones back in and gently taking them out, soft reset, hard reset and none of it worked. Nearest Nokia Care center is 550km away so it is not really an option to take it there. Pls help

Hi tnx for welcoming me.
So i downloaded Hardware tests made by Amaze Pictures Inc. ran the app and went for speaker test. I press the start button picture of speaker flashes red but no sound comes out.

yes i actually did drop it once or twice but my previous nokia phones C5, 3220 and 5500 sport were dropped milions of times and worked perfectly. Btw situation has changed a bit since i yesterday heard some sounds while watching a video clip on instagram

you should consider doing a hard reset via nokia recovery tool (backup all your important data before doing this step , this will make your phone back to factory settings , this tool will also download windows phone 8.0 image on your machine/PC which maybe 1+GB)

i have already done one factory reset but without recovery tool. I should have told you that i run preview of 8.1 will than recovery tool make a image of 8,1

If you use the older version of recovery tool you will be able to restore to windows phone 8.0 and I will recommend you go back to windows phone 8.0 too see if the issue is present in 8.0.

reverted back to 8.0 no luck sound still not working

Maybe the cel thinks the headphones are connected, this happens on my 720, 311 and c6-01, just blow the headphones hole and try to clean it

situation update: Since reverting to 8.0 didnt work i started downloading all my apps back to my phone and when i wanted to put my phone to my desk i dropped it to ground screen down. So i picked it up to see if screen was damaged and when i pressed unlock button i heard......... a sound. So i opened music straight away played first song on my playlist and voila everything worked perfectly. It seems there was a loose contact. As long as it works again
