Hi!
I have the lumia 735 with the denim update. There is also the lumia camera app, but when I open it, it does not have all the features the new lumia camera has. Sorry, but I don't know what's going on, since I already have denim.
Thanks for helping!

Does the Lumia Camera has that new design and improved speed?

The 730/735 are not PureView cameras so will not benefit from the great new features in Lumia Camera 5.

Darn you Microsoft!

The non PureView devices will still get a boosted Lumia camera app but only without the features

Nope. Only L930/Icon/830/L1520.

How come? From what I have heard, only the phones with preview cameras will get the rich capture, due to the hardware. The shutter speed and opening time is all software. How are only the high end phones getting them?

Ask Microsoft. I dunno.

EDIT: Old PureView device does not have enough HW power for that. But I dunno why L735 will not have it. Because same HW as L830 which will get it.

Phones MUST be Pureview AND hardware capable for them to receive the Camera 5 update.

The L735 is fast enough for some of the features.

If they don't bring over any of the new Lumia Camera features, go to the alternative camera apps. I've stopped using Lumia Camera on my Icon because it's just too slow. Sure, if you're taking scenery pictures or static photos where you have plenty of time to shoot, it's a good app. But if you have people who grew up in the iPhone age, they will complain how slow you're asking them to stay. Everyone wonders why they have to stay so still and why it takes so long for my phone to take a picture.

You'll miss a lot of moments when using the Lumia Camera app. Go to a wedding and try to take shots of the bride coming down the aisle. Chances are you'll get 2 shots and they won't be razor sharp (because of the slow focus time).

So my day-to-day shooting, I use ProShot because it's so fast and the manual features are set up like a traditional camera (I also use my Canon T5i when I really want spectacular pictures).

You'd be surprised how many great camera apps are out there beside ProShot. Heck, the one that comes from Microsoft gets better and better (it's fast but pictures aren't as good as Lumia Camera or ProShot).
