i am a new owner of LUMIA 820 the phone is okay but i am not able to install apps. like skype, whatsapp, etc am 59 years old and do not need any family permission to install anything. pleaseme cos i done all what the manual is instructing but to no avail.. please help.

You better take it back where you bought it from. Let them check. There might be some restriction on it and they should sort it out for you!

If you have setup your hotmail/live account It could be that you haven't modified your age, and there for you will get a message about setting up my family.
my brother in law had the same problem and after we changed his live account to the correct age we had to reset the phone
