Lumia 920 on T-mobile?

Because I am finally able to buy and use top notch Windows Phone hardware that actually gets support and updates and use it on a decent network with inexpensive plans without having to even bother with unlocking the hardware.

So I thought people should be aware that there is now an alternative to having to unlock and deal with workarounds and hope you live in a compatible area. If people still want that hassle, fine, but they should know their options going in.

Ordeith, I think people know AIO exists and that because it's an MVNO of AT&T, they can go that route. But this thread is about the 920 running on T-Mobile.

Also, what workarounds? Access Point easily sets everything up for the user. It worked like a charm for me when I got my Rogers 920. No fuss, no muss.

Just ported my 920 from ATT to TMob. Installed Access Point to fix MMS issues (all you do is install it, and open it, don't have to enter any settings or select anything). I'm a mobile hotspot user, so next step is to get that working using the foreign SIM card workaround documented in another thread. Have an Orange SIM card on order from Amazon which other's have had success with. Everything else seems to work fine. Will save $100/month for a family of 4 over the previous subsidized ATT plans. New no-contract plans from ATT are close in price, but still a bit more. Now that all our phones are unlocked, we can easily switch back to those plans if the TMob service is not adequate.
What thread would that be? Im trying to get internet sharing to work also with a ATT unlocked 920.

That's the thread. Just tried it this evening with an Orange SIM card ordered from Amazon and it worked. So now I have a fully functional 920 on T-Mobile, and just learned today that T-Mobile is upgrading all our accounts, more teathering, more LTE data etc... effective March 23. I'm getting blazing fast download speeds sitting in my house, 8-9mbps down, don't remember up, but I think it was over 2mbps. It's faster than my home DSL, so couldn't be happier.

Now that I have internet sharing working, the next thing I'm wondering about is how I can get future updates. Obviously T-Mobile won't roll out updates for a phone they never sold. I hear there is a developer program where you can get the updates from MS directly. Anyone know how difficult it is to get in that program? Also wondering if there's any way to load the WIFI calling app that comes with T-mobile phones like the 925.

Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi calling app won't work with your 920. I installed it on mine last summer, but it never worked. It only works on T-Mobile phones. I can't help you with the developer program info, though, sorry. I'm sure there's someone here who can give you advice on that.
