Lumia 920 Problems

So I have bought a used Cyan 920 from eBay back in February? Since my white 920 from launch had a cracked screen from dropping.

I have been having a whole lot of trouble since the Cyan update. I took off the Live lock screen since it would freeze every now and then. Now every time I double tap to wake up (Lock button doesn't work) it says "resuming" for a few seconds. Which is annoying cause I have to wait to look at my phone.

Now for the past couple of days YouTube has not been working for me. It says "DECODE ERROR" and wont play any video.

I can talk during phone calls but Cortana cant hear me when I ask a question. It shows "Listening" but it does not recognize anything said and just sits there with it saying "Listening."

Also I am not sure if this is just my phone or the app but Creative Studio will not let me blur the background. You know when you use your finger to blur the background? Well after the background is all blurred, I will go to save it to post on Instagram and the whole image is blurred. I have done this twice now and it still blurs the whole image even when it showed just the background blurred before saving. I am not sure if it is because I am also using Color Pop but it was never a problem before, maybe just a bug.

My contract will be up this next week so I can finally get a green 1520, but I do want to wait for a Black Friday or Christmas deal like they did last year. Has anyone else been having similar problems like this?

It is a bunch of coincidental problems, and the fix for this may be a hard reset. It may fix most, if not all of the problems that you are having with your 920.

As far as Christmas shopping bargains, I can't help you there.

There's many people who have had problems with the Cyan update and the live lock screen.

Usual fix is a hard reset or using Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

It all depends if you're willing to use either one of those options as you need to backup what you have and possibly lose some data as both options wipe your phone clean.

The only thing is I cant use my power/lock button. Is there any app that can reset the phone?

I do not want to use the recovery tool, I do not want to lose anything. Thanks though!

Haha, I do not need help as far as Christmas deals. That is a matter of waiting and finding a good one.

No there is no app to help with a soft reset (as far as I know) and in this instance it probably wouldn't help anyway. You have a corrupt OS so the only saviour is hard reset or the tool.

Windows Phone does a really good job of backing up your apps list, your text messages and phone call history and all of your accounts and whatnot. Go to Settings > Backup to verify the quality of your backup before you begin. If you're going to be switching phones soon, you'll want to make sure so you don't lose anything when crossing phones anyway.

I fixed it! I found out that the touch section of settings will let you reset phone if you activate/deactivate the vibration for the home keys. It fixed all the problems I was having besides the Creative Studio one, that is still an issue.
How did I not think of resetting phone...but kind of hard to do without the lock/power button not working.

Yes, I saw that after the Preview that they have done an awesome job at backing up. Thank you for the reminder so I can do that before switching.
