BT receivers are not going to be "compatible" or "incompatible" with a phone. As long as the phone supports the same BT profiles that the receiver supports, it will work.

FWIW, here is the one that I use in my car to link to my car stereo. My car stereo has BT for hands free, but not for music streaming, so I have this plugged into the audio jack of the car stereo so I can be wireless.

This one is actually designed for home use, with an AC adapter, but the input is 12v, and I had a cigarette lighter adapter with the same size plug, so it works perfectly in the car.

Well, it turns out that bluetooth receiver might not work with some docking stations/hi-fi sets.
Just bought one on ebay and it doesn't work with my Sony CMT-BX77DBI. It does work with gear4 speaker (speaker with ipod dock).

Well, not good so far. I've ended with two bluetooth receivers that will not work with my Sony HiFi. For some reason, a lot these receivers will not work with that particular model (CMT-BX77DBI). All my devices (Lumia 800, Lumia 925, iPad Mini) were paired within seconds; the sound just won't come out of speakers....:( Other alternative is to use Bluetooth receiver that is connected to audio-in.
