Lumia 925 is (almost) totally unresponsive - help!

My Lumia 925 started freezing about a week ago. It usually resolved by itself or I did a soft reset. Two days ago, it went totally black as I did a soft reset. I have tried to:

1. Soft reset it (volume down + power button -> Windows logo/home button blinks or stays lit for 1-30 seconds. No vibration)

2. Hold the power button (same result as above)

3. Hard reset it (No vibration, no exclamation mark, nothing, just the home button lights up. I did the hard reset combination as the Windows logo lit, but nothing happened.)

4. Connect it to my computer and use Nokia Software Updater. It couldn't detect my phone.

I have done all steps above with different USB-cables and chargers. Also, except for step #4, I have tried the steps without having my phone connected to anything. I don't believe that it's a battery or hardware related problem (well, it could be, but I don't want to believe so).

I fear that I'll have to take it back to the store I bought it from, but if there is anything else I can do, I'm happy to try. Is there anything they would do at the store that I haven't already tried to do?

Hold the power button down for a several seconds, swipe down the screen as you would turn off the phone. Let it sit for a few seconds then power it back on. This used to happen to me pre-portico on my L920 albeit rarely.

Try a different cable with step 4, I have seen it make a difference

The best cable to use always for flashing roms is a factory cable, generally all pre-supplied cables are factory cables. The difference between factory and your cheap data cables is that the latter doesn't provide any power during the flash process. However as a rule of thumb the phone must be fully charged when flashing the rom.
