Hi guys,
GDR1 was a problem after updating. whatsapp and the camera (microsoft camera) does not detect my voice. But nokia camera and phone call working.
How can I solve this problem?
Does this problem software or hardware?

My English is bad I'm sorry.
Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. I can speak on the phone fine but switching to speakerphone or trying to use voice for a Bing search doesn't work. Skype video chat is also not working.

There is a lot of people like you(us)... There is already a post on this forum and also a big one on Microsoft website.
I'm sorry, i m not allowed to copy links in my post as i'm a new user to this forum.
But search in this forum the post called "Lumia 925 with Mic problems - WP8 software issue" (i just post on it so it should be on top)

And for the Microsoft support post search in bing "update-to-81-breaks-the-second-microphone-of-some-models-of-lumias-confirmed-by-many-users"

Sadly, absolutely no solution except "go to Nokia Care" :s

What they said. Ship it to Nokia for repair. If you go through the online system it generates a prepaid UPS label to use. Mine took about 10 days to come back.

I have WP8.1 on my TMO 925 and do not have the problem you describe. I had this issue on my 810 but went away after turning on and off Cortana along with a reboot of the device.

Since today I have the same problem with Cyan. Indeed it seems that the second mic. doesn't work at all, a very strange issue. I hope that there will soon be a fix.

By now I have concluded that the 925 has a big design issue with one of its mics. The Nokia official tech service didn't want to fix my phone because it was not purchased on the country (I was not requesting the guarantee I was asking to pay for the job) and when I told them about the issue they told me that they were swamped with phones with the same issue.

My phone will be brought in for repair tomorrow for this problem, I hope that it will be fixed!

Today I got my Lumia 925 back and I have to say, the warranty was from the Nokia quality as expected!
Not only my microphone was fixed but also they have decided to install a new frame on my phone! The aluminium was a scratched because of my first case, now it looks brand new again. Nokia, thank you for this awesome service! You never disappoint me, this is one reason I've always liked Nokia and always bought their phones!

If you don't have a warranty, you'll need to replace flex cable with microphone on it. Search on ebay for "Audio Jack Flex Cable Ribbon Nokia Lumia 925". It costs arround 6usd and this is what it looks like.

Hope I could help.

I should have replied to this thread sooner! I left my 925 in for repairs in August and got it back a day later working as normal. Unfortunately the same problem started happening again this morning : ( I'm not sure what's causing it, but in the 7-ish months I was on WP8.0 I didn't have this problem, and in the 3-4 months on WP8.1 I've had it twice. Part of me thinks it has something to do with Bluetooth though.

Whatever causes it, it's very frustrating.

And now it's working again. Don't know what sorted it. Possibly plugging & unplugging headphones?

Confused!

My dad's 925 had the same problem. Fortunately in his case, there was some debris in the headphone jack, which was activating the headphones (during call it would say hands free instead of headset). Blowing high pressure air into the jack solved the issue
