Nope, but close:

Lumia 640 dimensions:
141.3 x 72.2 x 8.8 mm (5.56 x 2.84 x 0.35 in)

Lumia 950 dimensions:
145 x 73.2 x 8.2 mm (5.71 x 2.88 x 0.32 in)

Still impressive that they fit a 5.2" screen in pretty much the same size body as a 640 with a 5" screen.

That's a 640 XL and not a 640.

Correct, it's a 640XL. The 640 is just a little larger than the 830. And the 950 is just a smidge larger than the 640. But both are dwarfed by the 640XL.

not the best thats for sure - no different than the Lumia 520 i got mine in....

I bought my 520 at launch and it came in a box, now they come in that stupid saucer thing that's impossible to open without a blowtorch..

All that's included in the box is the phone, battery, charger, USB cable, and documentation.

a cool website i came across last week or so, cant remember who pointed to it, but allows you to quickly compare "ACTUAL" sizes of phones on your screen - all you have to do is a quick calibration against either your existing phone or a credit card/driving license against a template on the screen and then pick some phones...
you can then put them side by side or on top of each other...
very cool - give it a try...
i had a look at a 640XL at an ATT store last night, they didnt have the 950 in store (some excuse about not being a big enough store, even though they were a corporate store and had the 640XL!), so i got an idea of how big it was in my hand and can with this tool see how the 950XL compares....

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Everything I've read suggests that's it's really comfortable in the hands, more so than the XL. I think the balance will be just fine.
