Lumia - How to update to Lumia Denim

Wow, now that's information which is actually useful regarding Denim! Not that we have exact release dates yet, but I feel it is getting close. Really hope to receive it on my 930 before Xmass though!

I found it while looking for Lumia 930 update availability. It was on the Microsoft Lumia 930 official page. It was uploaded on YouTube on the 14, so my guess is that the update will go live this Friday or Wednesday, not sure wish witch is Microsoft's usual update day for WP.

The last days I've read that question a several times (Wednesday or Friday) but didn't read an answer, so I guess both? Really hope tomorrow of course but I don't think so. I think the general availability page for the Lumia updates would also be updated before the rollout, and that didn't happen yet ;)

I damaged my Verizon Lumia Icon this past weekend and just received my Asurion replacement today. After I installed the developer preview and went through all the updates I noticed that it's running Lumia Denim. I went to damaged Lumia and checked for updates but it says it's up to date but still running Lumia Black. If my replacement Icon on Verizon has it running, I'm sure it will soon be released to the rest of the Verizon Icon's soon.

I think that is a bug that many of us had with the extra and info app, check it a few times and it will go back to black, although I hope you are right lol

I hope it will start the roll-out tomorrow or on Friday, but that will still mean that there will be a couple of weeks or more before my carrier picks it up.

The help page for the 1520 has a link directly to that video, too.
Thanks for the tip btw its me who open that subject regarding roll out day for microsoft ...i didnt get a clear answer but i think its wednesday or friday either 17-19 December or 24-26 December :excited:
But i notice in the video ive seen above the os version is xxxx.14192.xx which means the version of the developer perview which contain if i remember the battery toggle & live batery saver

ROLLOUT OCTOBER
ROLLOUT NOVEMBER
ROLLOUT DECEMBER

I dont care anymore. Q4 is almost done, nobody will get Denim this year. Its just a waste of time to investigate when it?s there, and then be happy and patient, and then...NOTHING. I just want my Lumia Camera 5 in my 830, as shown months ago on IFA in Berlin. Nobody mentioned it wouldnt be available when the phone is released.
Oh and dont forget about the carriers.
Microsoft should say a DATE and then keep the promise!!!

Finally a video that doesn't stutter.

Actually very informative, although i wished they showcased "Hey Cortana"

my phone(520,country variant, romania) is installing a new critical update..i think its denim..im not in dev preview

So today I popped into game in the UK and traded in my 1520 for a 930. Its RM-1045_1003 with a mobile operator of 000-GB and I have Denim! Still installing and setting everything up. Happy days!

So...it looks like I have a bug, and a false alarm! If I go into extras and info, it says Lumia denim. However the text is blue and when pressed it takes you to the cyan page. Also, I don't have any of the features of denim. No different settings under the camera app, and hey Cortana doesn't work... Pants.

This thread was like a freakin oracle.

It looks like Microsoft finally releases Denim.

Except that Microsoft released the update in China first.
Also Microsoft released the update on older and budget friendly generation Lumias first.
All this makes sense, since China probably has the lowest share of WP and Microsoft announced Denim will be updated on 930 and 1520 first.
These details would have been hard even for Nostradamus to predict ! :))

Nice Microsoft logic.
