Lumia Icon on T-Mobile Europe

Have been reading several threads. Im not entirely convinced... My old Google Nexus needs replacement. Next week I'm going to the USA for my job. I like the look of the ICON and being a windows guy like to get a Windows phone. To make a long story short, can i buy a ICON from verizon and put my T-Mobile sim in it and use it? I know i won't get 4G speed (no wide coverage in the Netherlands yet) , mms doesnt work but I'm on wifi most of the time anyway and not using mms, so thats not a big deal. So I only use internet on Wifi or UMTS/HSPA+ if there is no wifi and use it for calls.
