Lumia is doing great

Idg has reports from the two biggest carriers in Sweden, Both 3 and telia that say that Lumia 800 will be in there toplists in February, how high is hard to tell but on the top half of their top ten. And on telias list Lumia did manage to get on top ten already in janury (it was released in Sweden in late january so thats good, and it was the first time since May 2011 that Nokia had a phone on top ten list at telia).

And Phonehouse (a company that has alot of stores that sells mobilephones) has reported that they have only have it for 2 weeks but they an already tell that it will be on their top 5 list for February.

And elgiganten (they are like mediamarkt or saturn but in the nordic countries). Elgiganten says that when it comes to numbers no one can beat the cheap phones in there stores. But when it comes to which phone that has sell for most in money in February Lumia is number third, and Elgiganten have only have it for 2 weeks as well...

Yep, the Lumia is flying along. Nokia + Microsoft really seems to = Winning!

I know both Orange and O2 sold out of the Lumia at one stage. I spoke to an Orange rep and he said they're selling like hot cakes.

I am excited to see what happens in the US. I think despite Nokia phones not really being a hot item in past years, the lumia 900 release is going to be pretty explosive.

Yes, but thats in europe. It will be fun to see how well it does in the US when Lumia 900 hits the market there. Hopefully it will be doing well. Nokia has had problems being big in USA for some reason. But lets hope it does, it looks like it doing well in europe.

One other big test is ofcourse what happends after february. This was the big month when it got out in most european countries and what happends after is hard to tell. Will it continue to do well in march? as well or will it go back for some reason? If you look at peoples opinion of it i think that it will do good in march month to. But its hard to say.

Yeap looked on Orange for upgrades and all the 800 models out of stock. Normally means somebody is buying them or nobody is... I will let y ou folks decide which is the more likely.

I'm 100% confident WP will succeed here in the UK. For reasons I haven't yet worked out, people don't seem to be so anti-Microsoft over here. So many people are bored with iPhone and don't mind jumping ship, if something else takes their fancy.

I know at least five of my friends are moving over to WP once we know more about Apollo, etc.

Lets hope they don't do the same with lumia. After all it has got wp7.5.... And that it gets the same great respond in the press overthere as lumia has gotten here in europe..

Good job, Se1fcr3ation! I managed to sway a friend over to WP after he asked via Facebook what phone he should get next. The iSheep were herding in their dozens and the Android fans were letting their voice be known. I just told him my reasons for leaving iPhone as well as my reservations against Android and two weeks later, I saw the red Windows Phone icon pop up on his status update.

Ill try to translate to english, this is from a swedish article:

In the us its a more common sight to see a dwarf riding on a unicorn then to see someone that has a WP7 phone.

Thats not the case in Europe where Lumias great sales makes it looks better for Nokia and that it looks like the company has a brighter tomorrow, its the best selling phone in austria and one of the best selling in the UK.

But the hardest test for Nokia will be when Lumia 900 is released on the US market.

So lumia 800 number one smartphone in russia, number 8 smartphone in the Uk, 8% of all sold mobile phones in norway was ? lumia. And lumia 710, number 3 at t-mobile in the US.
And also number one at all carriers in Finland, and best selling phone in Holland!

So feburary was ? great month for the lumias.

Maybe Nokia thinks that the 900 Will be the big hit in the north american market..

Also in europe many was disapointed with iPhone 4s. And best selling android is till galaxy 2. So to put it out and make alot of ommercial for it now was the right time i think.. Before galaxy 3..
