m3 and Norton Security

I'd appreciate feedback on anyone running Norton Security on their SP4 m3. I had a major system failure yesterday that came on suddenly. Both Edge and IE either wouldn't or took a long time to open. Apps wouldn't open, or even the Start screen. Of course I restarted, then ran sfc /scannow with clean results.

After doing a clean W10 reinstall without Norton it hasn't happened (yet?). Since it was such a catastrophic event I suspect Norton, which works very well on my other W10 PC.

By the way- Just before the failure I had made a recovery disc and done a system image backup- could they have corrupted something? There was an error message at the beginning of the recovery disc procedure that said something like 'resource not found' but I was still able to start over and make the disc.

Has anyone else has issues with Norton on a Surface, or can suggest other causes?

Norton is no bueno... use either Defender (Included) or ESET

Removal tool....

So far no problems without Norton; I'm using Defender and the m3 is running great.

Norton runs very well on my W10 PC, but I've seen occasional issues with it and other AVs on new hardware or certain OS configurations.

It'd be interesting to see if anyone else experiences the same crash.
