Mail and Calendar taking up a lot of space, how do I reduce it?

Mail and Calendar taking up a lot of space

I'm on the insider slow ring, currently on 14295.1005.

Looking to upgrade to yesterday's release, I find I have insufficient disc space. The main reason seems to be that Mail and Calendar (v 17.6965.40712.0) is taking up 1.65 MB. There is no obvious reason for this - there are few mails as far as I can see. I have moved any apps that allow themselves to be moved onto my SD card. Is this size normal, or are there any suggestions as to how to reduce it?

I have no documents or music not on the SD card.

Do you mean 1.65GB or 1.65MB? Have you tried removing the email accounts to clear space?

1.65 GB.

I've removed one account (I've got 5 in there), without much change. Currently between them I have all of 8 emails, and a few deleted ones.

That's unusual. My own mail uses 180MB and I have 3 accounts with hundreds of emails in them. Try to clear more space or you'll have to do a hard reset to get that storage down

In the end I've done a hard reset, and things seem back to normal.
