Mail app - no push for Outlook account

When I add an Outlook account there is no push option, only time sync, with 15 min being the shortes available time. What's going on?

I can only set Windows 8 mail to check for Outlook.com mails every 15/30 and so one minutes, not to get them when they arrive.

Funny thing is that I have Push set for Gmail and it works flawlessly.

I would suggest deleting the account in the app and adding it again. Outlook.com accounts most definitely do push email in the app - there should be an option for as items arrive above 15 minutes.

Open Mail. Hold WinKey+C. Click Settings. Click Accounts and select Outlook. Then you'll see something that looks like this.



Select Download new email As items arrive.
