Main Site RSS Feeds

I know that having the full article text in the RSS feeds is a very popular request from a lot of people, I totally understand and support their preference, but personally speaking I absolutely HATE it with every fiber of my being, and it makes the RSS feeds practically useless to me.

So my idea/suggestion/request is this... can we get a dual-feed option? One feed that offers the full text/images and one that offers the summaries w/o images, and leave it to the user to subscribe to the style they prefer? :excited: I know a lot of sites allow parameter tags on their RSS URL's to "configure" them, so maybe we already have the option?

For those who may read this and think I'm nuts or just whining, allow me to offer some perspective.

I use IE10 on Windows 8 (desktop version). My profile and feeds all sync between my devices via Windows 8 Profile/Skydrive sync. While it's not the best viewing experience for some, I like the way it works for me and my workflow... ie. having multiple tabs open, one for each feed I'm checking, etc. etc. No accounts are required, no special apps or software, etc. Unfortunately, it requires a LOT of scrolling for some feeds that don't use summaries, and it makes it impossible to skip over the articles I'm not that interested in, and at times the number of images really bog the feed down.

Sure, I could use an app and manage them more like folders-- NextGen, Classic RSS, etc.-- however, the apps also can get very slow when processing all the images and big/many feeds. And while I do love using the WP app, even that 920 4.5" screen just doesn't cut it for some things, and when I'm on my laptop, I can multitask better.

Plus, I just prefer seeing the title and summary, and deciding, "Hey! That looks interesting... let me jump onto the site to read this." Reading it full screen in the format intended makes a big difference, AND I have to think the page hits help the site via the advertising.

GoodThings2Life,

Thanks for the suggestion! We will take this into consideration during future updates for sure!
