Just got my matte black 1520, just curious to see how they are holding up without a case.

I am using mine without a case since a month and a half and it's still perfect - same as the day I bought it. I had a matte black 920 before this and I used that for 13 months and it didn't have any problems either.

I keep mine in a "Poetic Palette Ultra slim Hardshell Case for Nokia Lumia 1520 Sand Black" (do a search for that on eBay), that cost me less than $8.

Why?

I started out not liking cases for phones, but the 1520 is just so "slick" feeling I really did worry about it dropping onto a hard floor and breaking. It's larger than any other phone I have used (obviously), so needed to feel better about holding it in my hand. This case has a nice embossed surface that I can grip without the phone feeling too slippery.

Before I inserted it into the case, it wasn't scratched or anything and I think that after ten weeks of use, it will hold up really well.

If I hadn't gotten the official Nokia case with flip cover, I wouldn't bother with a case. I like the Nokia case, so I use it.

Mine is good, 3 weeks on. Looks like it should wear nicely like my old black 920.

Just one thing - due to the camera hump, an area of the body comes in contact with the floor (whatever flat surface) and I have a bit of wear there. Probably due to the vibrating alert serving to rub that point onto the floor.

i've used mine for over 2 months, and there is a shiny "line" where it contacts the table. no scratches, quite slippery overall. screen has no protection either, one micro scrath about 0.5" long. i'm holding out for a glass protector with oleophobic coating like glas.t

I have had mine since launch day and is great. The edges are a little shiny where they have been polished by my jeans pocket but that doesn't bother me. Unfortunately I have to send it out and have a new screen put in because I dropped it face down on the asphault.
