Memory card in surface?

I can't get the surface to acknowledge the memory card I installed. It is 32gb.
Is there a way to format it from the surface?

I assume its an SDXC rather than a SDHC because the format is different isn't it (exFAT).

it is a sdhc I had to put it in my laptop to format it as NTFS so it is working now.

Good to know . It'll be interesting to see which devices work out of the box, and which ones are formatted in ways the surface doesn't like and need "fixing".
