Message notification

My friend just migrated from Android to the Focus Flash. When a message comes thru, the notification is across the top of the screen. It has who it is from and part or all of the message.
She was wondering if there is a way to disable that from the homescreen? I also explained that is probably integrated into the Windows OS and how it is done, and I don't think it can be changed.

I am pretty sure that thats in the rom and not subject to change at this time. Why does she want it to not do that?

I don't know, it's one of those things where what matters to one may not matter to another.

My GF sends me some fun/naughty message sometimes (bless) and in a business meeting you don't want the actual message showing up. I like how iOS has the option to hide the message but still say who it's from.

Can't wait for my Titan to arrive! Only 3-4 more sleeps!

That is what my friend just told me, it is a privacy thing when she is in a meeting. I tend to agree with her.

I agree 100% it should be an option. But uhh, really? Why are you (she) showing your phone to other people when you get a message during a meeting? This makes absolutely no sense. Is it really that hard to NOT show your phone to people all the time?

Does not necessarily mean he or she was showing the phone to anyone. The phone vibrates and people tend to be nosy to see what's on the phone.

So umm, do not look at the phone right away? Do not leave the phone on the table top?

I also suppose one could put a bunch of spaces after the last name, so it is a long empty name to fill the screen so the text can not appear? Maybe a character would be required at the end, but a lot of spaces between it and the character?

And that's your opinion. It is not a problem for me since it does not bother me either way. I was asking on behalf of my friend, which is her opinion on how she likes it.
