Metro PCS 640

A friend of mine wants to sell his Metro PCS Microsoft 640 to me. Only used for a few days and it's in mint condition. Does anyone know if I can use this phone with a different Sim card? I'm using a mvno which uses T Mobiles' network. He claims it is unlocked I'm not sure. Thanks.

It maybe safe to say (or correct me if I am wrong) that if it is not unlocked and through metro pcs which t-mobile now owns; Your sim card from t-mobile may work. If it is unlocked, it would be good for you to use a carrier of your choice.

Why don't you put your SIM card in it and see for yourself?

I agree any T-Mo flavored SIM should work in theory...
