microsd card password forgotten

I have an 8 gb microsd card please somebody tell me how to unlock it I forgot the password.i have Lumia 520

So I'm assuming it was encrypted.
Without the password, you might as well format it/erase it.

You forgot the password for the phone or the card? If it's the phone then you can just turn your phone off and remove the card. If it's the card, then you don't have any option but to reformat it, unless you saved a copy of the password on your Live account

I try to format my memory card but my phone shows me error can not format

I cant format it maybe because of the password.i don't care of the data.i have a backup all I want is my memory card to work.can somebody advise anything

Try formatting it using a computer or from any other device that supports microsd cards (camera, another non WP, etc.)

its not formatting asking for password again. won't format without password
