Play Books, iBooks but what about Windows Phones?

No app for reading your favorite novels, books and magazines. Bit of a disappointment if you ask me..

Yeah, in order to just keep up Microsoft really needs an offering for this. I've been saying for a while that they need to just buy the Nook business and then make their own app for Windows and WP to access that data (preferably one that allows ink markup as well). Don't see it happening though.

Checked out your link. It says that this program is not available in your market. Now what.

Oh ok. Will change region and download later. Only reason I didn't before was because of region change (lazy). Since I still have to change region, later is probably never.

I don't need to really. I already have a functional book reader I use and I'm happy with it. I'm not one for audiobooks so I see no advantage of Freda over Bookvisor Reader. Nice to know these exist though.

I am not saying there is NO book reader in the Store. I am saying Microsoft NEEDS one of its own. Be it Nook or Nokia Reading, but one that does at least what the competition does..that's all..

Do any of these 3rd part readers sync bookmarks between devices? If I start a book on my surface and they later pick up my phone, will it know to start where I left off on the surface?

I doubt. That's why a Microsoft Book app is needed.

There are sync settings in Bookvisor Reader. I don't use it though because I really didn't want to create another account so I don't know how well it works.
